  37. Well not exactly.  As I said East Lansing is a testing ground for new
  38. technology.  The cable lines have signal amps going both ways.  (they spent
  39. a year digging up cable and replacing it with fiber optics).  All you gotta
  40. do is plug a special cable line into a special modem box that plugs into
  41. your 10baseT network adapter card and, viola, 4 or 10 mbps internet access
  42. (includes 4 - 10 IP addresses).  Man it REALLY sucks I'm moving away!! :(

  49. I don't see telephone lines having the necessary bandwidth to be a viable
  50. networking option in the future.  I'll be placing my bet on the cable
  51. companies.  Of course the baby bells have enough liquid cash to buy out the
  52. cable companies, but who cares as long as I get a cheap and fast internet
  53. connection.
